Well I've decided to share my substitute teaching cards (for all the subs out there- holla!!)
I give these out to any teacher I sub for. They are especially great because then the teachers, principals are more likely to remember you! You can also give them out with your resume if you want.
I'll let you take a peek at mine so you can see what they look like. I ordered them from Vistaprint for FREE just paying s/h - what a STEAL. You get a ton!!
Cute little box- the cards come in |
I included my name
Certified Substitute Teacher
Elementary Education (certification area)
address
phone number
email (be sure to include as many teachers are tech savvy and can email out days they want a sub in advance
I would love to hear what you think, even teachers who need subs. What do you think of this idea? Would it be helpful? Anything you would add?

I'll show you quickly some of the paintings I've been working on...totally unrelated to teaching but I thought they were cool nonetheless.
Let me know what you think!
Most of these were inspired from Pinterest in some way and I put my spin on them.
Popping paint balloons on a canvas. SO MUCH FUN! It gets everywhere, be sure to use washable paint. I cannot describe how much fun it is!!
finished splatter paint
bad picture but all the words in the back are things I love!
This pattern is so popular! I love love love this painting....can you tell I'm a tad bit obsessed with rainbows?!
I love this idea! I also made myself business cards for teaching and I really believe it's great---we are professionals too!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea that we are professionals too....never thought of it that way but SO true!
DeleteGreat idea for your sub cards! I wish something like that would work around here. I am a teacher, but don't get to choose my own subs if I'm out. It all goes through a computerized system at the district level and we just get whatever sub happened to click on the button online to accept the job!

One of the districts I sub for is that way too. You never know when someone might get to pick their long term sub or give your name to another school :)
DeleteYour paintings are BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your business cards too! I always thought about making them when I was subbing but never got around to it. Great idea!
Marvelous Multiagers!
THANKS! :)
DeleteYour paintings are all awesome! I can't pick a favorite! Great work...:)

Keep Calm & Imagine
Definitely want to try popping paint balloons! Sounds fantastic. I think your cards are FABULOUS. Especially because you seem like you'd be an AWESOME sub! If I found a sub that did great, I would definitely want to keep their info (phone number and email especially) on hand. Great great GREAT idea.

Reaching for the TOP!
I love the owls on the cards! I think cards are a great idea. Honestly, if someone just leaves their name on my lesson plans it's lost forever!

I always keep any business cards that a substitute teacher leaves for me so I have their information handy. Know what I'd love? If your picture was on it somehow. I hate not being able to match the name of someone who was in my room with the faces that I sometimes see in my building. I also LOVE the picture with the crayons on their. That's a beautiful song lyric and I love how your image has the bold crayons and gentle color washes. It fits.
ReplyDeletelove your business card ideas...just stop by school and drop some off...I'm sure teachers would appreciate it...I know I would!
